Great Lakes Integrated introduces Two Day Digital Photobook Service for Ohio Photographers, Event Planners and
Marketing Directors

Cleveland, Ohio – April 13, 2015

Paul Doerfler, Vice President of Sales for Great Lakes Integrated, has announced a Two Day “Perfect Bound” Hinged Layflat Photobook Service specifically designed to provide a high-impact, high-value, keepsake for attendees of events covered by photographers for local Businesses, Associations, Non-Profits, Banquet Facilities and Hotel Properties.

According to Paul, “What truly differentiates the Great Lakes Integrated Event Photobook Service from online competitors, is GLI’s ability to take advantage of its local investments in technology, talent, experience, equipment and locations, to significantly reduce the time involved in the typical design and printing of commercially produced photobook requests!”

The Two Day Photobook Service provides clients with a simple Secure InSite Link to upload 34 full page 7” x 9” digital images to GLI’s Portal which are then placed into predefined templates using GLI’s internally developed “CHIL” workflow process. This process streamlines the time-consuming steps involved with resizing images, correcting image orientations and removing duplicates before being forwarded to the company’s Digital Print Center for production.

The Two Day Event Photobook Service also includes assigning a GLI Account Executive to assist with the customization and personalization options available for both the front and back covers of the photobook. These options include selecting a “Front Cover Photo” and the personalization of the “Front Cover Text”, in addition to the placement of a “Company Logo” and “Address” on the back cover. Before each Event Photobook is completed, GLI also generates and prints a unique product code on the back of every Event Photobook for any additional reorder requests.

Prior to shipping, each GLI Event Photobook is inspected for quality control, packaged conveniently in sets of five and delivered by courier to a single location.

Little Boxes That Aren’t Ticky Tacky

Starting December 29, 2014 for UPS, and January 5, 2015 for FedEx, all boxes will be priced by size and weight. For example, if you have a box that is 4”x4”x4” and the product inside doesn’t fill the whole space, you will be charged based on dimensional weight, not the actual weight of the package and its contents. This means you will be charged for unused space in your oversized box. At Great Lakes Integrated, we are prepared for this change and have begun making our own custom sized cardboard boxes.

Let us help you save on your shipments by constructing a box size to fit your needs. Whether you have a Point-Of-Purchase display or a t-shirt promotion to get to hundreds of customers, our on-demand packing solution will create the box you need at a size that will save you money. Our box maker can be tailored to make modifications to the box, such as extra flaps to make your product tighter and more secure. Any excess cardboard from the construction of the box can be used as filler or as corner braces – more savings to pass along to you.

At our warehouse facility in Avon Lake, OH, we have over 200,000 square feet dedicated just to distribution and fulfillment of products for shipments nationally or internationally. By employing our own packaging solution, we are spending 40% less than we would on purchasing premade boxes. Because the boxes are built to the size of the product, we can use up to 50% less void-fill such as air pillows and foam.

To learn more about saving money by utilizing our box maker, please contact Mike Stewart at 216-634-5201 or mstewart@gll.com.

Great Lakes Integrated makes a significant investment

Great Lakes Integrated (GLI) announces a significant investment in sophisticated printing press technology from Heidelberg as part of the company’s overall continuous improvement initiative.

The company has purchased a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL105 to compliment its current printing capabilities. The 40 inch six-color press with aqueous coater and image control combines the best of form and features. This impressive equipment will provide Great Lakes Integrated customers with substantial increase in speed, efficiency and productivity.

“The new printing press technology is more cost effective than anything in the market today and will help GLI do more for our customers by reducing print turnaround timelines and saving money. No one else in the market can offer this level of productivity and efficiency with superior craftsmanship and quality control” said James R. Schultz, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer

The Heidelberg XL105 was installed and made operational in record time. It was a well orchestrated effort from Heidelberg and Great Lakes Integrated staff throughout the facility. “We strive for unmatched customer service; our clients were well-served during this time of transition. Deadlines were met and client satisfaction was maintained,” added Schultz.

This equipment utilizes numerous innovations never before seen in the industry. When combined with our very experienced press crews the press runs at production speeds of 18,000 sheets per hour in make-ready and running modes. The addition of the Heidelberg XL105 will enable GLI to meet the evolving demand for quicker response time. The press image control system scans the entire press sheet not just the color bars, thus providing instant feedback to the press and maintaining the ultimate press to proof match from initial sign-off to final printed sheet.
