The Web Applications Programmer is responsible for developing cost-effective solutions for business related problems.  Activities could include, but are not limited to, analyzing business functionality and needs, developing and executing cross-media marketing campaigns, implementing client designs into functional HTML for web, email and mobile devices, developing and supporting browser-based extensions for web-to-print software, coding corrections for system defects, developing and executing test plans, and providing on-call production support when needed.  The Web Applications Programmer knows the fundamental concepts of the software development methodology and life cycle, and recommends solutions to technical projects of basic to moderate complexity and scope.   This role applies troubleshooting skills to determine appropriate programming solutions for existing systems and seeks input on complex projects and/or new application development tasks.


Specific responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Developing and executing cross-media marketing campaigns including the creation of personalized microsites, client portals and HTML emails for web and mobile devices.
  • Development of JavaScript and jQuery based extensions for web-to-print client sites.
  • Creation of customized themes for client websites utilizing CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Work closely with production departments to deliver and assist in the preparation, creation and implementation of internal and external projects.
  • Make all requested changes and corrections promptly.
  • Providing technical analysis, design, coding, testing and support for web projects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with both technical and non-technical people.


Work Experience Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in front-end web development and coding.
  • Proficient in HTML /XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON and AJAX technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and implementing HTML web pages using Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari web browsers.
  • Experience implementing Google Analytics to capture site metrics.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS4 or later.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing, deploying, and maintaining hosted applications including proficiency with HTML and IIS.
  • UI Tools, Graphical applications (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Web UI development for iPhone, Android, Blackberry is a significant plus.
  • Proficiency with SQL Server 2005 or later, MS Access is a plus.
  • Experience with developing in C# .NET a significant plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, which include customers and management.
  • The ability to work alone or in a team oriented environment.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignment simultaneously.
  • The ability to support department goals that align with current and future Company objectives and initiatives.
  • Good negotiation skills with the ability to find successful resolutions for basic to moderately complex issues, escalating those that require management involvement, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work under general supervision in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • The ability to pay close attention to details.

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology, or related discipline, which could include Computer Science, Information Systems (IS) or Management Information Systems (MIS). In lieu of a degree, at two years of related work experience designing/developing, programming, and supporting software programs/applications in a client server environment.
